Amazing collection. I'm myself a great fan of watches and fortunately my friends and family who are well aware of that are showering watches on me on my birthdays. My latest watch is from my elder sister and it is a truly amazing watch. Check it out at <a href="//www.essential-watches.com/Rolex-New-5441-9-Cellini-PRINCE-White-Gold-on-Strap-15092.aspx”" title="”Rolex" rel="nofollow">Rolex Cellini</a>

I seriously hope you're kidding that your car is your best friend.

I mean, if you're going to pick a car, a 911 is a good choice, but... Wait a minute, that's not the point I was trying to make. Damn German cars and their ability to make you love them.

Thanks Jack. I agree about the stick being in a different pattern. The up and down would be best, if i had to have one. I would prefer the paddle shifters tho. Having to reach down to shift messes up my flow and rhythm. I dont like taking my hand off the wheel either.

Hey Rob,

Thanks for stopping by!! ;). I am so sorry you have had a car stolen and also vandalized. Sounds like my luck with watches, i had a really expensive one stolen :(.

Great story about your time at Zuffenhausen on the track:) I wish i could do something like that too. I need to so some driving and racing schools too. It is all the the plan, just need money :).

I do like the mid engine Porsches, esp the Cayman S. I have only driven it once and i fell in love immediately, I just felt one with it. More than the 911, the 911 took some getting used to. I think Porsche had me in mind when they made the Cayman. :) .

I am REALLY looking forward to a PDE, and even though it is expensive it is worth it. Nazmul has been to a few of them and told me about it. I AM going to go. If I can just make some more sales commission!! :).

Great comment and please feel free to share more track adventure stories and pics. I am sure you have lots. You can email them to and I can post them under your name, or i can show you have to write posts on here directly.

Best wishes,
Izabel

Alex,

Thanks and I am glad you liked the article. I am sure my feels and opinions will evolve the more I drive but i am sensitive, in that i can pick up on all the things the car is doing and telling me. But I wasnt offended by what you said at all, perhaps you misread it. Not to worry.

After you describe the 335 it seems that we have the same opinion of it. I still cant quite see how you got sick of it, it seems like the perfect car. Also, it isnt too terrifying to drive while being hard core at the same time, a perfect balance. Plus the 335 is WAY more practical than a 911, with the back seats and truck and all :).

Thanks Vincent!! Is there a track near you? If so you could take the BMW for a gentle drive at the track :-P. Or, you can do a track weekend where they will provide the car for you, there are lots of programs like that. I think Mazda does it and its not as expensive as a Porsche one. Have you looked into that at all? There is always karting too, and your son can come along:).

Thanks for your support as always :)

Nice post Izabel. I think Rob's comments about taking some "expert" classes on trackdriving make sense. In fact I think if the government really wants safer drivers on the road, they should make all of the licensed drivers take a course in trackdriving (and pay for it of course). Needless to say this kind of training would need to be updated every 2 months or so to keep things safe. :D
Seriously, I would love to experience some real trackdriving, in a real trackcar under experienced supervision and coaching :)
Someday, I'm sure I will.

Keep up the posts and ignore comments without content like a certain individual made on LinkedIn. Some people think they make sense because they made one sentence. Comments should be more than just one sentence don't you think?

Wow! Nice comment Rob :) . That's awesome that you've had so much track time at so many awesome tracks. If you get the chance, it would be cool if you could write about some of your European track adventures?

That's great that you love your speed yellow Boxster and are experiencing it too the fullest! I used to have a 996 that I was really attached to a few years ago :) . Sadly, I've not been able to replicate that...

Another great program that I recommend to anyone who's reading this is the Porsche Driving Experience. Incredible doesn't even begin to describe the quality of instruction... And with the Cayenne program you can do offroading as well ;) .

Take care

The analogy with sex and dating women has worn thin :) . I think it makes sense up to a point, but the difference between a woman a car is that one is a sentient being, with free will, while the other is a machine that's at your beck and call. The only reason your 'relationship' with 'adriana' didn't work out, was not because she did anything wrong, or that there's anything wrong with 'her', it's because you didn't 'take it to the next level'. Again, the analogy began to outlive its usefulness and relevance a few paragraphs ago :) .

I'm glad you're enjoying your C4. It's a fun car, that's pretty easy to drive. If you want unforgiving 911 street cars try the Carrera S, GT3, and GT2 :) . The C2S is very aggressive and involving to drive, at any speed, especially as the revs rise. It's not like the C2 or C4, or C4S... I love how Porsche puts such different character into these cars which are so similar... 911 TT are purely poseur mobiles in my opinion... they remove all the excitement from driving with the numb/feedback-less steering, and lame character of the car...

Take care

I was a rookie engineer when I bought my first "sportscar." Then, 2 weeks after my 1967 427 Corvette Coupe was stolen I had the insurance check and bought my first 911. Recently I was in Zuffenhausen and witnessed the Aisin gearboxes from Japan being installed. Times change and Porsche has learned to combine the best of many different sources to build amazing machines with superb reliability. Yesterday, I enjoyed the Porsche sponsored day at Mid-Ohio. Rainy and cold, the new machines gave thrills to the drivers as the 7-speed PDK equipped machines with PSM tried their best to make heros of the drivers. I was stuck in a car with a rookie (from Germany) who was a terrible driver. He managed to spin 360+ driving the new Carrara S on the wet track into the grass. The instructors were baffled. Naturally, he was clueless about how he managed to do this. As a graduate of Bondurant, Skip Barber, and Track Time, I am a very lucky man with hundreds of track hours at Nurburgring, Sebring, Sears Points (OK, Infineon for you kids), Fuji, .... I have been blessed with global travel and decades in racing. I always leaned toward Porsche. I like the "power-to-weight-ness" of the brand. Today I am stuck on the mid-engine design rag top because I DRIVE my cars. It has a James Dean-ness about it. It is wonderful to have room for luggage while blasting around the country. Having been victim of car break ins twice in London, I like the security of the mid-engine design where your goodies are hidden, not sitting inside the glass visible to the eyes of the drug crazed thieves. During the Nelson Ledges DE last summer my little yellow mid-engine rag top was pushing a turbo 911 around so bad he spun out trying to stay ahead of me. Do not underestimate the capability of the Boxster in the hands of a driver who has been trained by Darren Law in private advanced lessons. Darren, if you don't know, just won the Rolex 24 at Daytona driving a Porsche.

If you can afford it, get your Porsche on the track. Do a PCA DE weekend. If you like it, go to one of the schools I mentioned above for pro help in fine tuning your skills. You will be a safer driver and have more fun both on and off the racetrack.

I was a rookie engineer when I bought my first “sportscar.” Then, 2 weeks after my 1967 427 Corvette Coupe was stolen I had the insurance check and bought my first 911. As a graduate of Bondurant, Skip Barber, and Track Time, I am a very lucky man with hundreds of track hours at Nurburgring, Sebring, Sears Points (OK, Infineon for you kids), Fuji, ….
You've got to get the TT S in Orange, with the 2 tone black/orange interior, with orange contrast stitching :) . The TT S is a beautiful car, and light to boot, can't wait to drive it :) .

I want to get an R8... in white with the carbon fiber trim panel :)

Hi Alex

Great comment. Welcome to the DLG community :) . Izabel hit the nail on the head with how special Porsche is. Here's a commercial from a long time ago that hints at it :) .

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/LDhF__PI2vA&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/LDhF__PI2vA&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

I love track driving, and while I love Porsche, I also love other cars and brands. There are so many great cars to choose from today, especially in the US market, that weren't available just 10 years ago. I can't wait to get an Audi R8 and take it to the track... and a GT3, and a GT2 :) . And the list goes on and on! However, as long as I get to go to the track, in whatever great car, I'm a happy man! :)

Take care

Hey, I haven't for a moment thought that you were faking your opinions about Porsches and driving. They do feel true, real, and passionate. I was just amazed by how you were able to develop them with little experience. You're sensitive!

Well, I loved my 335 for quite a while, it's trully fast and sexy, looks awsome, the steering feedback is great and tells you everything that's happening with the car, accelleration is explosive from 2,000 revs on (which is different from the 911s and remarkable for a turbo engined car), and it is also quite forgiving when you screw up (while the 911s make it very clear they don't like it when you unsettle them). Let's call the 335 my Adriana Lima. Can anyone get tired of Adriana Lima? Well, eventually I did. The problem is that Adriana and I flirted every day for months, made out a little bit every other day on the backroads, but it became routine before we saw each other naked! :-) For me the analogy of a relationship with a woman really works. I do think you can keep it live, interesting, and hot indefinitely (I've been faithfully married for 10 years and fell in love with my wife repeatedly during this time), but you gotta do something different every now and then, invest time, energy, attention... and don't forget the hot sex! ;-)

I'm taking better care of Gisele than I took of Adriana, and I think our special relationship is poised to last much longer: I drive on more varied types of roads than I did with Adriana (do something different), I drive Gisele much more than I drove Adriana (invest time), I check the oil and tyre pressure every morning and install Pagid brake pads myself every time I go to the track (energy, attention) and... have I mentioned the amazing sex that we had on Thunderbolt and Watkins Glen?!

Alexandre,

I will try my best to go to the track. The lease isnt up on the 911 until next year so there is plenty of time. There are many great fast cars for driving on the track. I dont think i will be getting another 911 soon, i have slightly different priorities now. Dont get me wrong, i LOVE Porsche, but there are so many other brands that offer better value for money, lower maintenance costs, luxury, more luxury and comfort on the inside (trim packages that dont cost as much as the car itself, hehe), and AC that actually works when you are under 4000 rpms. Just to name a few :). I dont mean to dis my beloved Porsche but i am just saying there are other cars out there that i want to try out :). Once i am super loaded perhaps I will get another Porsche again:).

I like the white color a lot, it is very bright and it is a racing color too (lots of race cars are white). I do like bright colors but i will need to see them before i buy. And then there is the issue with getting a ticket every 5 seconds :). I am def against black interior, it is just toooooo hot!! My 911 has a black interior and its like 20 degrees higher inside than outside, its so bad. So the grey is less hot :). I cant wait to go test drive the TTS, it is so darned cute! Every time i see it i want to go hug it. It looks like a cute space ship, hehehe.

Hi Alexandre,

Thanks and I am so glad you enjoy the site!! :).
I tracked my Mini CooperS JCW but since selling it I havent tracked the 911 because I have been saving money and too busy. I do plan to do it this yr though. I have wanted to for a long time :). My opinions of driving and Porsche are true and real, i am not just making it up. I dont think you can fake something like that. I connect with cars and i understand all the things that make them special, and can feel how sensitive and high strung and badass they are, they are truly amazing. I have been to the track many times, and i drive my 911 and lots of cars around on curvy mountain roads all the time. I have been driving since i was 16 so i guess not too long. But of course i didnt have fast cars when i started out, i wasnt born rich unfortunately, heheh :). It is really a factor of money, if i had more money i would have more fast cars and be at the track everyday all day:).

LOL, i love your analogies for driving on the street and track!! Hilarious!! :). I do kinda disagree that not driving a 911 or a fast car (the 335 is VERY fast, i have driven it) on the track will cause a person to lose interest with it or it to get boring. I cant imagine getting sick of a 335, it is a seriously fast, badass car, and it wants to be driven fast and furiously, hehe. Why didnt you like it?
I couldnt ever feel this way about my 911, or any 300+ hp car. They never get boring or old to me...ever. I cant lose interest in them if i wanted to. But, yes driving on the track is like going to second base with your car, it really forms a bond and gives you excitement that you can NEVER feel on the street. In a perfect would i would have a few different cars i would track and have a separate (daily driver) set for the street. But, i really don't get sick of cars if they are truly amazing to start with like all Porsches are, esp 911s.

I am glad you and your Gisele are having fun together and bonding. I am also glad you wife doesnt mind, hehe. I will be sure to post pics and stories from my track day adventures as soon as I go. I have just recently got promoted at work and hope to make lots more money this yr, so hopefully more track events soon. But still, I LOVE driving to the mall and grocery store in my 911, i just love driving it anywhere at any speed anytime :).

I can live with you fooling around with other makes only if you first promise to bring your current P-Car to the track before you leave her and agree to get back to Porsche when they release the 991 in 2012... :-)

I like the white for street use and would get the orange only if you mean this to be mostly a flashy track car (it's probably just me: I like black, silver and white on the streets and red, yellow, and orange on the track). Grey leather is fine, but I would go with the black. I like the contrast of the black with the white body. And I like both the standard 18" wheels and the one that you chose. I definitely don't like the other one.

Izabel,

very nice post. I became a fan of your website and continue to love the passion that you put in your writing. A couple surprises for me: how come you have never tracked your P-cars??? Your opinions about Porsches (and driving in general) look so true, definitive, and strong that I always assumed you have been out there driving them to the max for a long time! That goes well with the other surprise, though: you're 26! I started this year at 38, so you have 12 years ahead of me to fix this major flaw in your life. Just don't wait any longer. Go for it! Now!

I have tracked my 2006 997 C4 coupe (which happens to be my first P-car) twice (Thunderbolt on 4/18, Watkins Glen on 5/25-26), and have more 3 events scheduled for the next couple months (Watkins Glen on 6/22-23 and 7/31-8/2, Lightening on 6/26-28). Both times on the track were a blast, and I agree with you that it completely changes your relationship with the car. Driving on the street is like flirting with your car, and you'll both get bored and loose interest if you wait too long to move on to the next stage. I have let that happen between me and my previous drive, a very nice 2008 BMW 335xi coupe. Driving on the track, in contrast, is like having hot sex with the car. And driving a P-Car on the track is like having hot sex with Gisele Bündchen =) I guess I'm in a kind of honeymoon with "my Gisele", and we both can't get enough (the good thing is that my wife doesn't even mind! lol)

I hope we'll soon see you "give some" to your nice 2007 997S and tell us everything about it here - with details! ;-)

And driving a P-Car on the track is like having hot sex with Gisele Bündchen =) I guess I’m in a kind of honeymoon with “my Gisele”, and we both can’t get enough (the good thing is that my wife doesn’t even mind! lol)

I hope we’ll soon see you “give some” to your nice 2007 997S and tell us everything about it here – with details!

Thanks guys!!! It is very cool and I love it a lot. It is very different that my Windows machine in many ways but overall I am really bonding with it.

I think the key with switching to Mac after a lifetime of using Windows is not having the expectation that it's supposed to work the same in any way. It is like forgetting what you know and starting over.

I do use a Windows VM at work. When Windows 7 comes out I will probably install bootcamp on it and use Windows too.

I am not a Mac groupie, I hate Mac groupies. You know the type? They always feel the need to say "Yea well Mac does that too!!" or "Apple invented it first!!" or something like that. Very defensive all the time about why Macs are better and Windows sucks SO much. Do you know what I mean?? Sounds to me like they are compensating you know. I am OS agnostic, I love certain things about both and am "woman enough" to admit if Mac or Windows isn't perfect in some ways and that they have flaws :) .

Hi Byron

I agree 100%. The Bernie and Max show is sad. All these gimmics every year. And they keep getting worse. Useless regulation changes, that don't accomplish anything, especially what their stated goals are. The changes from V12 engines cost a lot money. The current aero regs were supposed to make more passing possible, but super diffusers defeat that... And these endless tire rule/supplier changes, and next year, no re-fueling... All gimmics. They think that using KERS makes these cars more "green". LOL :) . Too funny. All show and no substance, and in the process the sport suffers.

I agree, if people don't have enough money to run with the big dogs in F1, they should stay out of it. There are so many other racing series that they can join. F1 is being turned into GP2. Which is retarded, since there's already a GP2 series! :)

Let's see what more gimmics are in store in the future :) .

Take care
Nazmul.

Hi Tammy

Thanks for the comment; sorry for the late reply. I've been super busy getting ready to launch more screamingtoaster mobile software.

I feel that Kimi doesn't seem to have much hunger or drive to win... he just seems lazy. I know his car sucks, but so what? :) Massa seems nice, but lacks consistency, and sucks in the rain. Last year, with a shitty car, in the pouring rain, Vettel put the car on the podium! Anyway... can't really respect Kimi... not much of a champion... Not a dick/prick like Hamilton though... It's great to see the Brawn GP team is doing so well. I'm ecstatic to see that Vettel/Red Bull is doing so well! :) Good season. The McLaren team blows... I don't like Mercedes or McLaren... never have... That's too bad that the BMW team is doing so badly...

It's interesting... the super diffusers are making it just as difficult to pass as before... so the new rule changes seem like a bad joke. KERS is nice... as can be seen in the last race in Bahrain... it's pretty cool to see KERS and non-KERS cars duel it out :) .

Take care,
Nazmul.

Sigh.

I look forward to the future when V12's are acceptable again in F1. Why should that be so difficult?

(That said, for a road car, if money were no object, I'd have Ducati build me a 6 litre desmodromic V12 specifically to fit the next Pagani (Zonda replacement) chassis.)

The day Max Mosley retires/is kicked out will be the day I buy all my friends a round of their most favorite (or always wanted to try) round of drinks.

F1 should always be the pinnacle of the sport/technology, never a compromise or miss-mash of ridiculous rules like the NCAA football bowls to determine an ambiguous champion.

To me, telling F1 they have a "budget cap" is like telling Michelangelo he can only pick four colours for his palette. Pure stupidity. Either you can come up with the funds to play or you can't.

Ché peccato.

Tammy,

I heart Kimi too. It sucks that he doing so bad this year, am not sure whats going on with him. I think that Mika Hakkinen is/was the best looking driver ever... (random inappropriate comment), since we are speaking of Fins... hehehhe :) .

<img src="http://drivelikeagirl.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/mika-hakkinen.jpg" alt="" />
What do you think??...cough...hottie...cough...

I totally think Hamiton is a douche...he didnt used to be, he used to be so sincere and care about racing and his heart was in it. Now he seems like such a fake... do you think so?

I like the way the new cars look, a lot. I think they look even more like a big toy, the wheels are so huge and the cars are small and i love all the new bits, i think they looks cooler than ever. Its SOO fucking sad that they dont get the good camera angles on the cars. They film them at the least exciting angles..even tho they have a million cameras mounted on the cars. I like the angle where it feels like you are in their seat and you can see what they see... they NEVER show that!! Maybe for like 1 second but thats it... it is such a cool perspective and you can really see what the changes look like and feel like. Stupid ass camera ppl!!! We need to go to a race!!! Let's go!!!!!!!!!!

One day, when i have mucho dinero I am going to follow the F1 peeps around the world to every race. I will document it on DLG, OF COURSE! :) . I cant wait!! I am open for donations, btw :D. hehehhehe

Tammy,

LOL!! I think Dorothy has gotten very stylish since the movie if she has a Gurard Red 911 Turbo. Wow! that's quite an improvement from skipping... she used to skip to get places now she drives a Turbo, lol.
Red Pilotis... nice choice. We should do a post on cool women's driving shoes, hmm this gives me an idea.

I havent ever been to Kansas or the Turnpike but maybe I will end up there one day and have to try it out. What kinda car do you have? Just curious...

I love this ringtone :) . Didn't like the movie though :) . Just make sure to keep your ringtone volume low with this one. Its loud and it starts with a big noise! You can also download the mp4 video from Google Video and just put it on your Bold or Javelin :) .

Post from Kansas ... hey, we out here in the flatlands appreciate the finer things in life too: fast cars, cool watches, and other expensive obsessions. Dorothy's driving a Guards Red 911 Turbo these days, by the way -- screw the red shoes (they are Pilotis anyway).

Who needs to go to the salt flats to set land speed records when you have the Kansas turnpike :) ?

Great recap of the new rules, Naz. It's been an exciting season so far (I am still catching up on sleep after staying up to watch the Chinese GP live ... 2:30 a.m. where I live :) And Brawn GP has just been amazing -- from nothing to podiums and wins. I've been a Raikkonen follower since his unlucky days at McLaren, so was happy to see him win the 2007 WDC, but this year -- all bets are off and the grid is a crazy mixed-up pile.

I agree with Izabel re: Hamilton; I think he's a talented driver, but the whole pulling over and making Trulli pass was very Schumacher-like (Rascasse-gate, anyone???). And, kind of fun to see the "old guys" up there spraying champagne too (Button/Barrichello).

OPINIONS: One of my complains with all the new reg changes is that even though the removal of all the myriad winglets, swoopy bits and other aero add-ons have made the cars more streamlined looking, I think the shape of the cars now is very clunky -- from very, very wide at the front to a tiny, high wing at the back. Maybe it just takes getting used to.

What say ye all?

OPINIONS: One of my complains with all the new reg changes is that even though the removal of all the myriad winglets, swoopy bits and other aero add-ons have made the cars more streamlined looking, I think the shape of the cars now is very clunky — from very, very wide at the front to a tiny, high wing at the back. Maybe it just takes getting used to.

What say ye all?

Cool Cobra :) . Speaking of Ford products, one of my favorite cars is the Focus. It has great handling, and is a ton of fun to drive. I've driven so many different variants... I wish the Euro Focuses were sold in the US... the RS is great! :) . I had an orange SVT Focus that was a great car :) . It was great until I messed it up by tuning it... such is the Tao of a bad tuning job I guess...

I really enjoyed last weekend's race!! I am really a fan of Vettle, I almost cried when he apologized over the radio to his team. I feel so bad that he crashed at the end and it was so sad and adorable that he said "i am so sorry". I think he will do really well this season, even despite the new Ross Brawn team. I am also really a fan of the Ross Brawn team this year, because it is so impressive what they have done and how so much came together at the last moment. Such a cool story, how can you not be a fan? I have soured on Lewis Hamilton for now, I was very happy for him winning last season, but he isn't the only good driver out there this year. So much excitement to come...who knows what will happen! What a year it will be! I wish i was going to one of the races!! :(

Hi Sul.

The Javelin doesn't have 3G/UMTS and the Bold does. They both have Wifi. The Bold is too big and the battery is too heavy, but I like it a lot. The new Niagra for VZW should be great, but it has no Wifi. Always something missing... only if there was a lighter/smaller Bold :) .

Take care
Nazmul.

I've got the bold and <3 it. I got to put it up against a curve (unlocked - also on at&t) and saw no difference in signal. The bold is a little big (compared to the iphone), but it is rock solid.

Hi Martin

Welcome to the DLG community. Thanks for posting a comment. Porsche Owners Club sounds like a very interesting driving club. I currently drive like a girl with PCA. That's great that you enjoy the RA1's; they are really great tires. It's cool that you drive your 911 on the track and the street; I do the same :) . From the track, to the grocery store, to the mall.... mostly the mall ;) .

Yes I drive like a girl, although I am a post menopausal male....driving with the Porsche Owners Club...www.porscheownersclub.org IMHO, the best overall, long wearing, kick ass bargain track tire is the Toyo RA-1...they have a 100 hardness rating which means you could drive them on the street..not advisable. I have run through too many sets to count the past few years on my 97 Carrera Track/street car.

Tire Rack always has pretty decent analysis of tires....

ok, totally dumb question probably, but who is the first model (Allessandra)? I think I like that picture best. :D
Then Gisele is obviously very stylish with her A8, although I would advise an S8 for the fast lifestyle that goes with being a supermodel :)
Well, next would be Adriana Lima, although the pictures aren't of the best quality....

Sorry Mr. President, but you finished just outside the podium......but I'm sure you understand :)
