I am trying to figure out which BlackBerry to get…here are my options:
Bold from ATT
I currently have an ATT plan but am not up for a new phone so I would have to pay full price for it. It is so pretty and I love the bezel and the back of it. It is a bit heavy though and that is kinda a problem for me. I would DIE if I dropped it…
Javelin from ATT
It is coming soon and same issue again with no new phone eligibility. The Javelin is way lighter than the Bold but it doesn’t have 3G, which is ok with me because I am almost always somewhere with either good GPRS reception or wifi. The weight is an even trade for not having 3G. But as you can see, it lack a lot in the looks department.
Niagara from Verizon
I would have to wait a few months for it and I would have to break out of my ATT plan, BUT Verizon is far superior in call quality than ATT where I live. in the dc metro area, ATT reception is not comparable with Verizon and Verizon is a bit more expensive but it is worth it.
Unlocked Javelin or Bold Intl’ Version from Amazon.com
Amazon sell’s unlocked BB’s!! Sweet! Here is the Javelin, and here is the Bold. I could just slap my SIM card in it and go… hmm seems like the best choice.
What to do…any thoughts? Has anyone bought a phone via Amazon?
I’ve got the bold and <3 it. I got to put it up against a curve (unlocked – also on at&t) and saw no difference in signal. The bold is a little big (compared to the iphone), but it is rock solid.

The Javelin doesn’t have 3G/UMTS and the Bold does. They both have Wifi. The Bold is too big and the battery is too heavy, but I like it a lot. The new Niagra for VZW should be great, but it has no Wifi. Always something missing… only if there was a lighter/smaller Bold
